Steps Beach
Snorkel within one of Puerto Rico’s most important marine reserves
Located in Rincón, Steps Beach forms part of the Tres Palmas Marine Reserve, which protects coral habitats and diverse marine life. The beach is recognized by the set of concrete steps sitting on the sand and is one of the area’s best-known snorkeling locations when the ocean is calm.
Conditions change significantly by season. During winter, larger waves attract experienced surfers and may make snorkeling or swimming unsafe. When the surf settles, Steps can offer excellent snorkeling and opportunities to observe coral, tropical fish, and other marine life.
